It's hard to ignore a 10 pound fish that almost literally is on your back door. That's how it's been since I moved to this house on the lake in July. After fits and starts of fishing on the lake and getting fully moved in and comfortable in the house, I've settled into a routine of casting off one or both of the docks pretty much everyday at some point in the day. All it takes is a charged car battery, flat bottom, a troll motor, a couple of fly rods and a few flies and I'm fishing in a matter of seconds.

The particular lake...

I hear and read about this term a lot, at least on many of my home waters of Texas interest group's sites. Blind Casting, "were you sight fishing or blind casting?" is usually how the question goes after an outing when people discuss the details of the trip. Here in coastal Texas, many will only fly fish the inshore and nearshore salt and brackish waters if the conditions merit casting to sighted fish, period, end of story. Anything that deviates from that is labeled "blind casting"...
