    Got there around 1400.

I'm not sure that with a floating head, you have much advantage over single hand casting. Should be interesting to find out, though.

If I could have fished longer, I'm sure that I would have been in double digit numbers of trout.

Are you using a skagit line with one handed rod or a switch rod? I've been throwing streamers with the latter when the flow is up around 300 -- a far too frequent occurence of late -- and doing reasonably well. It seems like overkill for the Gunpowder but make sense once you realize that you don't have to wade too far into heavy current, and can cast weighted flies on a light rod.

Let us know how you experiments are coming along.
Are you swinging the grouse and herl alone or with a dropper?

Grouse and herl was the dropper. The Spanish Needle was on point.

With the big rain Thursday, the Gunpowder flows were up around 1800 cfs....will the recently
stocked trout hold or get pushed down river?

Only the lower section is stocked. The most heavily fished part is all wild fish, and those did just fine in high waters last year.

The flow in the stocked section was much probably closer to 3000 cfs -- the Glencoe gauge seems to have malfunctioned around 2500, but the flow was obviously higher than that.

The fish in the stocked section around Monkton will probably end up in Loch Raven, where they stand a better chance of survival past June than if they had stayed in the river. I have no idea what will happen to the fish below Loch Raven (nor do I really care; in my opinion DNR is just wasting my money putting fish there in the first place.)
