Cold Morning, Icy Guides, Hungry Trout

[NJ Catch and Release]

I got out Sunday morning and went to one of my favorite rivers. Air temp was only 26 when I hit the water (forgot my thermometer so not sure what the water temp was) and the guides on my rod iced up for the first few hours. River flow was good but I was surprised to still see so many leaves in the water, my leaf set was on point!

Ended up catching a bunch of browns and rainbows.

Nice fish! Never let the cold keep you off of the stream (unless it’s frozen over)!

It was a great day, hard to believe I only saw one other angler and he only stayed for about 15 minutes then left.
