In case you haven't heard, you might want to check out this tidbit that appeared in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle...

"doesn't pose a threat to human health"... Sorry but I don't trust brown water... Don't care how many times Kevin Costner puts it through a Mr. Coffee... I won't drink it

At least it's treated organic effluent, not mine tailings. And nitrogen loading is probably not quite so much of a problem (for things like algal blooms) in the winter when there's less sunlight.

Anybody know how this is currently effecting the fishery? I'm assuming upstream from the spill is relatively unaffected? I was planning on spending a couple of days on The Gallatin in 2 weeks.

I wouldn't worry about it assumeing the 'mud flow' has stopped. Takes a river just a few days to 'flush.' Sorry I couldn't resist.

theyre monitoring it. probably too early to tell you for sure. but if you go up 20 feet above the creek that is carrying it into the gallatin youll be fine. gives you about 12+ miles of river to fish

heres a good link for getting latest updates
