Scoutm,
I posted a video in the op. Here is a link to it: https://vimeo.com/user57213378

Has this been occurring since 2009?
Yes, PGE has stubbornly refused to change it's warm water release regimes. Although, river studies by DRA have clearly documented negative changes in the river chemistry and environment effecting steelhead and trout . There is lots of info on the DRA website.

That was very informative, and I hope worked out correctly in the end, as I hate seeing GOD'S creation that way.

In the shadow of bad new there is some good news....unfortunately, if they don't address the problems in the first(lower) 100 miles all the work these fine people are doing in the head waters will all be for not.

This is the entire video if anyone is interested. Only the trailer was in my op.
Thanks for posting.

Do you know of any efforts to being taken to address the water quality of the lake. Is the nutrient load so high due to agricultural run off? I know the upper Deschutes and the Metolius are pretty clean but how about the Crooked? The water quality they showed below the dam kind of looks like the Crooked river water.

The Crooked river water is the problem as it is the warmest water and lowest water quality as a result of agricultural runoff. Nothing is being done about it to my knowledge. Here is a link to a water quality study in the lake.
