Default Did you guys see this?

Monster Sturgeon, over 1,000 pounds and 12 feet long caught (and probably more importantly, RELEASED) in Canada. I doubt it was on a fly rod, but I thought it was pretty cool. Its probably the biggest and oldest freshwater fish ever caught in North America! Because it was released, its not an official record- those need to be weighed on a certified scale. here's a link:

Wow, that was a huge fish. Great to see that they released that fish to let someone else get a chance to catch him.

That is an awesome fish!

I'm impressed either way but the second pic in the article shows a fella from behind wearing the same shirt, so it looks like the same guy. he is using a bait caster.

The only Sturgeon I have seen live is up around Portland somewhere (buddy took me to see it on a visit). I think "Herman", as they called him, is around that size. Looks like a shark coming at you through the viewing window (insert Jaws reference).

That thing is massive... I would be dead after 1.5 hrs of fighting a fish!
