What flys should I use in early spring

Recently started fly fishing again and wonder what I should use here in New England this time of year

Years ago, I edited a little book by my close friend Steve May entitled, The Wright Hatch - Vermont.

In Mayflies, Steve suggests the Dark Blue Winged Olive, Pale Morning Dun, and Blue Wing Olive Midge.

In Caddisflies, Little Sister Sedge and her first cousins lead the way followed by the Grannom.

and don't forget a dark wooly bugger. I have had great luck with these on the Deerfield early on
