Default Fly Shops in the Boston Area???

I'm always in the Boston area. Where are the good fly shops located?

Well, there are two Orvis stores - one in Fanuil hall, one in Dedham. However, the Natick Outdoor Store is great. I was just in there this evening. Other than that, not sure. I think there are a couple of shops north of the city.

Bear's Den in Taunton is great shop

Then there's Eldredge Bros. Fly Shop in Cape Neddick Maine. Another shop worth visiting.

That's about as close as I'll get to Boston on purpose.

Btw, if you are driving through Rhode Island to get to Boston, don't forget to stop in at River and Riptide. It's right off of 95 in Coventry.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I was looking more for a shop in the city. I guess I'll just have to get my stuff before I come out this way.

There's a shop in Rowley; on Route 1A, but I can't remember the name of it; hard to miss it though if you're driving by.

I live in RI, but work in downtown Boston. I can tell you that Orvis in Faneuil Hall is the only one in town. That being said, they still have a full fly shop upstairs, staffed with fishermen, and not just clothing salesmen. Ask for Ty or JP. You may even bump into me during lunchtime. Good luck!

THE LOWER FORTY, Kelly Square, Worcester

See Jim Bender, owner. The best around for equipment as well as advice.

    Thanks, I'll check them out.
