The sites and times posted by cockatouche might be well worth the drive for you. Fly fishing can be a complicated thing leaving a person with way more questions than answers. By attending a get together you may well make connections that will provide a real fast track and help to avoid much of the minutia that tends to muddy the waters for beginners. I should mention that I've been to Kittery and understand the logistics of the drive from where you are to the meets.

Welcome to the forum, the members will do what they can to help you along but remember, this is a computer screen not face to face demos and help.

First post here as well, but I have spent my fair share of time fishing saltwater in Maine. I live in York so you aren't far from any of the spots I normally fish.

One of the best resources of information for you will be Eldredge Brothers Fly Shop in Cape Neddick. They can help you with everything to get you going in the right direction.
