    Default Anything active right now?

I must admit, I've never really fished in the winter before. I'm getting the itch something fierce though, have new waders to try out, I hear salmon season starts in NH in early April (gotta try to hit that up but will need a beefier rod - maybe the sale at LL Bean this weekend will sway my hand) so that'll be a start.

Can't wait to hit up Ausable in spring, my friends think I'm crazy to drive all that way. I might take a long trip and hit the Salmon River in NY too.

So my question to you, anything biting right now? Is the Swift River currently closed for fishing? Any spots to go for a cold camping trip?

This weather is mild compared to when we have been fishing the Swift. Fish nymphs and midges and you should do well. BWOs could be coming off now too since we have had a bit of decent weather.

Except for the Farmington, all the management areas in CT should have been stocked within the last week

Excellent, I might be in the area next week and will have to give it a shot!

And maybe time to start eyeballing CT too, I haven't gone to CT for fishing before TBH
