Good idea! The river is really clear now too!

Wed afternoon. For a change, some rain...it cleared up around 3:30 so I suited up. Then it hailed

Thursday -- Clear, cold, windy. River in great shape. Tickled a couple but no dice.

Friday -- Clear, much warmer. Fished with a buddy but had to cut it short for a job back in Conn.

Going back next weekend for Joan Wulff at Phoenicia library, 1 p.m.

Then I think I'll close the house up.

Low and clear. Best water I've seen on the Esopus in years. Unfortunately, even in the spots where I've always had luck in the past, I just couldn't find the fish. I told myself that maybe for the first time, the trout could actually see me and they took off.
They're in there somewhere, the search will continue.

Well I went over Saturday, Oct. 27, on a blustery rainy sleety mess of a day. Heard Joan Wulff at the Phoenicia Library and then went up to the house and battened down the hatches.

I might take a ride over in November if conditions improve. It's only 60-odd miles. But probably not.

I went back on Sunday with my wife. She took photos and stayed very warm, while I tried to fish. It was high and dirty. Hooked up with 1 brown at a spot that was typically 2 feet deep but was 5 ft deep yesterday. But lost it at the landing. Rehydrating the Mountain House at the stream side after fishing was amazing! Delicious and warms your belly in an instant.

Tough conditions all around. I am hoping that the levels come down at some point next week for a final E outing (for the season of course!)
