    Ard,

those reels sound good to me... but then again I have not tied into any kind of a bruiser fish... yet... ....maybe one day Ill be that lucky...

again... all of this is a newbie question based on how I know my fingers generally feel after a day on the water stripping in line and occassionally getting to set the hook into a nice fish...

I use athletic tape. It is highly flexible and sticks to itself. It can be gotten from any drug store, pharmacy, sporting goods, or fly shop.

Even though I do not tape up every time I fish, I go through one roll ever year.
