Default Dumb question about backing

I'm looking at buying some backing for my 10wt, about 200 yds.

I've noticed some backing shown as 200yds on two spools, but they are connected. How would you go about getting this on your reel?

Default Re: Dumb question about backing

Slide both of the narrow spools onto an arbor such as a pencil or dowel rod, clamp into a vise, run backing from first (top) spool to the reel, apply some light tension and begin filling. When the line hits the bottom wrap it should begin unspooling the second spool of backline. There are a few little things to figure out to make this work but after looking the situation over you'll see the way.
