Fishing in Dominican Republic?

My spouse and I are heading to the Dominican Republic at the end of January for a cousin's wedding. We're staying at a resort in the southeast, near Bayahibe. Is there any flyfishing in that area? I've found one outfit out of Bayahibe that appears to do guided flyfishing trips, but most of the fishing that goes on there looks like deep sea fishing. Are there any bones or permit to be had in the DR? Anything I can fish for with an 8 or 9 weight?

Hey Scott,

I was wondering if you had any luck in finding a fly fishing charter/guide on your trip. I'm heading there this sunday for the week and have been unsuccessful in discovery fly fishing resources in the DR (even the deep sea resources looked sparse). If you could share your experience I would be extremely appreciative.
