Thread: One day for fishing in Tacoma

  1. Default One day for fishing in Tacoma

    Hello all,

I have a business trip to McChord field next week and the schedule gives me Monday to fish. I have never fly fished in the Pacific Northwest and do not want to pass up this opportunity.

What is my best chance to get a good half day of fishing in?

    Where?
    What should I bring?

I promise that when you visit Kansas I will help you find the best farm pond in the area.

    Jeff

After doing some searches and speaking with a couple of local shops it looks like it will be an afternoon at Purdy Spit.

    Hi Jeff,

Sorry there were no replies but as far as I know we have no one fishing the area there.

Honestly, not much happening around here. You have to drive several hours to find open rivers this time of year. You're on the right track with fishing the puget sound.. Not really my preferred fishery, but it's about your only option right now.
