I'm heading from the east coast to the west coast to Vancouver Island for the month of April, and will have a chance to fish for cutthroats in small streams and maybe in the bays north of Nanaimo (i.e east side of the island). I know this forum is for US states, but I'm hoping the fish don't really know their nationality. I fish for brookies at home, and my limited opportunities to fish for cuts in northern BC, Alaska have indicated that some brook trout patterns seem to work (like Spruce Fly).
But I'm kinda lost here. I can only take hip waders, one rod, and a fly box or two with me, and I wondered if anyone had any favourite cutthroat patterns for streams this early in the season, and what seems to work in the bays?

thanks, guys.

Hey Brent, You have read me taok about it on another forum, but I have caught brookies, browns, rainbows & cutthroats all on the Delaware Adams. I do not fish without that fly - period.

Also flying ants work great on cutthroat.
