Gunnison River in May and June?

I'm asking around if anyone has ever fished the Gunnison River in May or June and what the river was like? Was the runoff so bad for the river to be unfishable or ??? I'm grateful for any feedback as I'm planning a trip for either spring or summer this year. I'll be fishing one of the hike in trails like Chukar. Thanks.

depends on the run off.....check with the local fly shop for the salmon fly hatch....or come with big streamers....run off is done by the end of june usually

i hit the salmon fly hatch in june on a 3 day/2 night float through the black canyon. great fishing.
