    Fishalong,

I love the way you guys just unclip the fish without a great fanfare. I can tell that that man has caught a lot of fish. I enjoy these videos,

Thanks again for all the comments guys!

Letting the trout go easy is a big part of fishing for us. We also never, ever, use barbed hooks (or nets).

Gallatin River yesterday was actually slushy in the canyon. But down below it was fine.

Storms pushing up the throat of Bozeman today. We'll see what happens.
The fields are endless, but the cows never leave the river side, maybe its the fresh taste of a cold mountain runoff that keeps them close. Or perhaps they just like watching the fly fisherman cast their way down stream (like souls of fishermen past). A young calf looks at his mother, with a sideways curious expression I love the feeling of mud running through my hooves.

I know I've asked you before about the fish in your avatar...is that a muskie and how big is it and where it the heck did you catch that beast?

dean- That was one of the rampant pike of Toston. About 32". The only fish that I don't mind killing (well, in this case at least). Supposedly their taking over the trout population like crazy. They came from some old farmer who raised them in his small pond which drained into the Missouri. Fish and Game literally told us to throw them on shore.

That fish is longer than 32"...that is an insane Pike. They are boney, but if you filleted that thing, that's a lot of white meat!

Great footage! What was the fly that your dad was using and why did he want to put on a bigger one? I only ask these questions out of curiousity. I am from Massachusetts and I am planning a trip to the great state next year and I'm trying to learn as much as I can. If my questions are out of line, I apologize.
