    Default Traveller's Trip Report - Coeur D'Alene

Just for the other business 'dudes' who travel a lot. Had a conference in Coeur D'Alene and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express by the Wal-Mart. In 30 mins I was standing over a nice pool looking at trophy size cutthroat.

Tied up some sz 18 tricos as there was a spinner fall and had a great day on the water. Lots of good locations in both the main river and cut offs. Expect some steep difficult entries to the water.

Fishing license is around $13 for 1 day, $6 ea additional day at time of original purchase. Bait and Barbed hooks allowed in most bodies of water.

    Directions
From Hayden head south to I-90E
    Take I-90E to Kingston exit.
Go left and follow river for approx 5 miles.
Take left at bridge for Bumblebee campground.

So how did the trico fishing go? I always struggle when fishing tricos.

When coming to northern Idaho to fish, please be respectful and if someone is already fishing a spot, don't fish there. The rivers have plenty of room for solitude and there is no need to crowd and drop in on others. Your wants do not trump other's enjoyment of their day. It seems to be happening more frequently and 99.9% of the time the offending party is from WA. Please pass this on to your fellow WA fishermen.

By the way, baited and barbed hooks are NOT allowed on most bodies of water.
