does anyone know for sure? (i can't seem to find definitive answer online)
if you drive up to St Marys town , to hike up to St Marys Lake,

i fished it the other day and on my way down some guy tried to tell me that its for residents only.
after a bit of research, there are 2 lakes down in town (Silver Lake + Lake Quivira) which are PRIVATE, and require some local pass to fish there.

But St Mary's Glacier Lake that you hike to at the bottom of the Glacier, seems to be PUBLIC?

can anyone confirm?
thanks

Its on private property but the owners allow hikers/fishing up there. You have to pay $5 to park in the parking lot they have made and then its a short 3/4mi hike to the lake. Haven't fished it myself. Was going to try this spring but ended up in a blizzard. I've hiked/camped up there and guys were catching a lot of small brooks.

i fished there past 2 days, and saw few other people fishing as well.

i've seen above links and some others, that clearly state that 2 lakes in town are private (which I'm ok with) but i just wasn't 100% clear on St Mary's lake, from most accounts it seems to be open to fishing.

and i figured if it was on private land that $5 we pay to park there gives you access to hike / fish?
