    Under population or have the big ones been eating the fry, resulting in size and under population ..kinda the same end result I guess in the end. Got to think those big fat fish are eating more than just bugs though.

    Eating baby beavers?

    There might be some type of baitfish. The entire pond has a couple feet of sediment on the bottom though so no trout could successfully spawn.

    When you look closely at the surface though, it's one of those places where the surface film of the water is just loaded with live and spent bugs.

    2nd cast at the inlet of a certain body of water flowing into another....



    Swallowed the streamer deep but it popped out immediately, checked inside and out and no blood at all thankfully!

    This is one of the better threads I've seen on the forum. Good to see you're out there catching nice fish but not hot spotting. Partly restores my faith in humanity.
