  1. Default Mccall, ID, early Nov

    Hello,

Going to Mccall Idaho for a week in early Nov.

Planning to hit the Payette for trout I guess and the Salmon near Riggins for steelhead.

Can anyone tell me how the walk in wading access / difficulty is on those two locations?

    Any other tips or considerations?

    TIA

    /Bjorn

Well, I wasn't sure. You know how them Idahoans like to speak in code.

    Looks good to me.

So are both the Payette and the Salmon that fast all the way?

Guess I can leave my pontoon boat at home then...

Or maybe i should bring my pontoon boat. It's just an 8 footer. But I've taken it through some class 3's and walked it around others.

Would I miss out on a lot of water and holes without a boat?

(Just asking because it won't be riding in the truck as usual, but rather in the trunk of our sedan, totally disassembled. Which is a major PITA)

Riggins and downstream looks a bit rappidy for an 8 footer, but upstream doesn't seem too bad. (Judging this from Google aerials).

    Any 5 cents welcome!
