Has anyone floated the Shoeshone River in WY? Would it be possible to make it into an overnighter?

I have only floated it once and that was on a friend's raft, so I really don't know. We put in at a public boat access and floated to the reservoir. I would call Tim Wade's North Fork Anglers in Cody, WY and ask them, they certainly would know.

I've stayed at a couple of drive-in campgrounds right on the river upstream from Wapiti. You might be able to secure a campsite, then float down to it to spend the night. I launched my pontoon above the campground a couple times and floated back to the campground. Some of the sites are hard-sided only due to the frequent bear activity in that valley. I've only seen one in a campsite, and it ran away fast as soon as we made some noise like lunatics and kindly asked it to leave. Like Larry said, Tim Wade's is your best source for all things Shoshone River.
