Planning on heading up this weekend. The reports I have read, make it sound like I should stay home. I am reading that the water is very murky. What do you guys think about streamers and bright colored nymphs?

A couple of days ago I heard that the lake was still turning over leading to muddy water below the dam.
Google “San Juan river fishing reports” as there are several fly shops that should have current information.

It’s been muddy for the last month. Been improving but still brown/green with 8”-9” of visibility. Tough conditions.

Probably not this weekend, but maybe in the future, according to BOR: "...a short-duration maintenance release is being planned. This proposed release would include a 5-7 day ramp up to 5,000 cfs, five days at 5,000 cfs, and a 3-day ramp back down to base release. The release would likely be timed to coincide with the peak on the Animas River." Nothing firm yet.
