    Thank you Rip for the explanation. The French part threw me off.
    Milt cant believe I didn't think of Jamaica Bay considering I fish it quite regularly and as you know I am a JB as well!
    And JB is on the South Shore and has the shad and herring mix as well!

    Pretty sure it was bunker.

    That's one "Steve's" flies. I sent him half a dozen of mine when he first started in the salt, but I'm not holding my breath that he'll return the favor at this point.

    I was looking up flatwings and came across his blog. I thought it was a wicked pattern and really like the flatwing style.
