I have an 8 weight G. Loomis Experience and had a GL3 before it but I think the action is a bit different than the cross current. I know you specifically asked about Sage, but I recently purchased a Redington CPX and could not be any more pleaseed with how it casts. If you haven't checked it out, you might want to as it is a tremendous amount of rod for the money. I paid under $200 for mine and it is an absolute rocket launcher.

Sorry I don't have a specific answer to your question but I figured I'd throw that out there. Good luck.

no worries thanks for the input. i dont know of a local store that carries a lot of redingtons that i could cast. the staples around here are tfo, sage, loomis, only seen a couple real light redingtons

It has been a few years since I casted a Crosscurrent (not to be confused with the CC GLX). I would consider it fast, but not uber fast like the CC GLX. I really don't know how to compare it to some of the newer generations of rods.

Here's what you do. Since you are limited in brands locally, test the Crosscurrent along with a Sage Flight and a TFO Axiom in the same length and line weight. All these rods are fast action, but they have their own distinct feels. One of the three should click for you.
