One of these years I'm going to produce a video of how I manage to land salmon without too much fuss. I know that many people thrill to the thought of the epic battle but I try to get it over as quickly as possible. There are several reasons for this; less disturbance of the other fish, easier on the fish if it is to be released, and ....if you're really into them, the quicker you land one the sooner you can catch another.

Anywhere can be the land of great expectations, broken dreams, or paradise found, it's all up to you.

Couldnt agree more. You can use your whole body and arm and rod position as a shock absorber with your drag locked down. Down & dirty!
