The parameters for flats fishing leaders are different than for trout. Trout presentation favors delicacy and mending/dead drift control while bonefishing involves a strait line-leader presentation with maximum strength and minimum stretch. I suppose if a Furl was twisted out of all Fluorocarbon, its thick end loop reinforced and Fluoro tippet section build down was free of loops (imagine a "tippet ring" on the flats? Not.) it could work but to what advantage? A 10 to 14' all Fluorocarbon blood knotted leader with about 4' of .026 or .028 butt section steeply tapered down to 4' of 15 lb. tippet is strong, abrasion resistant, relatively low in refraction index and optimal for strip-striking. But I don't want to discourage experimentation so try both and report on your experiences.
