Hey guys something a little different that the usual fare here.
Last month I was in Belize and caught my first tarpon on the fly. After pics and releasing it I found that it had dropped a scale on the deck of the boat so I grabbed it. My plan is to frame the scale, the fly I used and a pic as a nice memento.
When I got home I found that the scale had curled so I soaked it in some water for a day and then pressed it between two heavy books for a few days which has pretty much returned it to its natural curve which is pretty cool. Its stayed this way for several days with out curling so I think I got it set good.
I want to seal it with something so that it won't curl down the road and so that it looks shinny and wet all the time.
Anyone have any suggestions on what to use to seal it with? I'm thinking something along the lines of a clear acrylic sealer or something along that lines. I figure I'm not the only one who has thought of doing or done this with a scale.
Any advice to give?
Thanks
