    Default Yellowfin on Fly

Here's a video of a fly guy hooked up to a yellowfin off Ascension Island. Turn up the volume so you can hear Capt. Noddy's solicitous encouraging words to his customer, indicating the high regard he holds for fly fishing. Note the particularly meticulous attention he pays to his customer.

I don't know how big the one on the fly rod is, but he will never land it with the Capt. being that unhelpful. I used to fish them when I was stationed in Hawaii, and pound for pound they are one of the hardest fighting fish there are. If the one on the fly rod has any size at all to it, the only chance the guy has of landing it is if the Capt. quits messing around and starts going after the fish with the boat. I've had big ones peel 130 lb. line out into the next time zone so fast it would make your head spin. Not a fish you can casually ignore on fly gear.

And the other guys in the boat didn't seem to care at all did they. Just can't trust a guy who fishes with a fat stick.
