    Re: Wet wading boots

Someone on this site recommended wading and boat shoes made by Soft Science.
I bought a couple different styles and like them very much.

Re: Etiquette for correcting bad behaviour

Lately, I try to pose my correction in the form of a question? I seem to have somewhat better luck.

“How long can a fish live out of water?”

Many times though I just give them a dirty look,...

Re: 2/3/4 reel on 7'4" 4 wt Echo Glass?

I'm kinda driving myself crazy trying to figure out the same thing.

I've kinda narrowed it down to a Bauer SST, or a Galvan Torque in the thee weight size, but there are a ton of other choices as...
  5. Re: Good Article: Brainstorming on the "Pro Deal" Conundrum

With minor exceptions, I purchased almost all my rods as closeouts.

    Re: Anyone else do this?

Happens to me all the time. I thought I was the only one.

Speaking of beads: I seem to have a much easier time of threading beads on to a hook when the bead is countersunk rather than slotted.

    Re: Clinch or Improved Clinch

I just took a couple of whacks at tying the Orvis knot and I was having issues.

Is the Double Davy knot any better? It looks a little easier to tie.

    Re: Clinch or Improved Clinch

    Very interesting.

I recently made the switch to the Improved Cinch Knot from the San Diego Jam knot, not because I thought it was a better know, but because I thought it was good enough and easier...

    Re: Good Pair of Forceps?

    Dr Slick Mitten Clamp - Item# 1126594 | Sportsman's Warehouse

I prefer the mitten style forceps.

Sometimes I have a hard time fitting my fingers into the handles of more traditional forceps;...

    Re: Waterproof backpack ?

    Thunderhead Submersible Backpack - Shale

I've had issues with stuff in my day pack getting wet, so I made the switch to the Fishpond Thunderhead.

It is absolutely bombproof and waterproof.

  15. Re: Are Guides On Trout Rivers Becoming a Problem For Other Fisherman? I Say Yes

I kinda agree with you, except in my experience rarely does a confrontation resolve anything.

Maybe I've been doing too much yoga, or maybe I'm just mellowing with age, but more and more I just...
  16. Re: For you Robert Traver Fans of Trout Madness & Trout Magic

Yes, I thought the exact same thing regarding age.

I too am in my early 60's and I"m older than Robert Traver was in that video.

    I definitely ain't wise.

    Re: Cabelas zip waders

I had an issue with a pair of leaky Cabela's waders, not the zip waters.

Cabela's doesn't offer any type of repair service.

Re: Soft Tip? - Crisp Tip?

foulhook3160, I tend to agree with you, particularly about a firm tip working better in tight places.

For that reason I'm intrigued by the Sage Dart.

I'm thinking of having a buddy build one...

After reading all the good things about them I have to at...

    Thoughts on Bauer SST reel?

I'm hoping a NRX LP, 7'6", 3wt is in my future, for small stream combat fishing in Arizona.

I'm going to be hard on this rod and any reel I decide to pair with it.

    I'm intrigued by the Bauer...
