The trout fishing in the Ashville can be good and very senic but the Smallmouth fishing can be great. I'd check with local shops to see which is hotter in that time of year

To me St Croix are a good rod but very much on the fast side of the action. I perfer a medium action rod, their Avid is listed as a medium action but still very much on the faster side. Bottom line...

yes that was a mistake stopped many years ago, but the foreign genetics were not stocked into all drainages and the science can determine if the trout carry Southern Ap. genetics or Yankee genetics...
