Hi guys, I was wondering in what situations would you go from a 9' leader to a 7 1/2' leader? I figure I will use a longer leader for trout to get more distance between the fly line and the fly, but...

What size Vibrax are you using? If it is anything above a "0'' you can drop a size or two. Blue Fox also makes those same spinners with buck tails on them which will keep it even higher in the water.

I put the reel back together but the drag wasn't clicking. I took it apart again and there was a loose spring that fell out of somewhere. Now I really need help!:confused:

Good point Frank! I would probably be trying to over power it with heavier gear during casting too. I'll start on a cheaper 5wt. Maybe a $200. set up.
