    Recommendations for 330ish grains

    Hello,

What switch rods would you recommend for throwing 330 or so grain skagit heads.

This would be for wade fishing light salt or smallies in the river

    Thanks!

    Re: The Mop fly?

The biggest challenge the mop fly faces is angler’s egos.

It’s one of those patterns that gets people way bent out of shape. Some fish and enjoy them, others will no longer give you a ride home...

Re: G. Loomis IMX-PRO 7 wt for streamers

If I’m being honest, I don’t prefer fast/tip flex oriented tapers for streamers.

I’m rarely, if ever going for distance, be it out of a drift boat or wading.

I much prefer more mid flex based ...

Re: Thoughts on Helios 3F and D after casting...

I fished the 9wt 3D for a day on a guide's skiff and loved it. Absolutely loved it. Its blasphemy to say, but to me it felt like a lighter NRX, which is my favorite rod in most weights.

Re: G.Loomis IMX PRO Fly Rods

I have this rod in 5wt. Picked it up last fall. It’s been fish on Nj streams and the Upper Delaware. Over all I like it, but it certainly shines in certain scenarios and not so much in other.

I have the orvis recon 10’ 3wt. It is sensitive enough to feel bottom and light hits/takes that might not register well in normal indicator situations.
