    i drive with studs all the time and have never had any issues. i don't scrutinize the surface of my gas/brake pedals, but assume there may be a couple scratches on them due to studs.

    i fish close to 100 days a year and usually get two years out of a pair of boots before things start breaking or the felt becomes useless without studs.

    if you're not catching anything in high water, you might not be getting deep enough to where the fish are holding. add more weight. if that doesn't work, add more weight.
