Re: Drift boat motor mount

I was going to buy the Hyde mount, just wanted to check if anyone had done one themselves.. or if it was even needed.

Just a...

Re: Smoke Gets In Your Eyes (Rocky Mountain Edition)

There's not much here, it's hazy looking at the mountains, but not too bad.

Re: SW Montana seasons

There's always somewhere to fish year round. The hard part comes when you want to fish xx river on June NNth. You just need to be a little flexible. If RiverX is blown out, RiverY may be great,...

Re: Spring creeks western Montana

I've been to a few of them at one time or another.

There's at least 5 easily booked creeks within 45 minutes of Bozeman, and prices can very depending on the time of year. Some of the waters do...

Re: Planning a trip to Yellowstone National Park need some advice?

The time frame for your visit is a must for recommendations. And there's always the possibility it's a low water year [again] which could affect fishing.

I'll fish in the park the whole season....

Re: Help with carry on rod tubes

I always carry my 4 piece rods as carry on, never had an issue (except leaving NZ one time)

At the BZN airport.. I see people carrying all sorts of stuff off the plane.. including large 2 piece...

Re: Itinerary from Bozeman to SLC (MT, WY)

There are lots of camping spots along the Madison, both above and below the dam

I'd look for where you want to fish.. and find a spot there

I've used them for a few years.. they do help a lot, but I didn't like them always being in my view

Re: First fish of the year

Nice to get that 1st fish...

There's a few places in town that have TFOs and Grey's rods.. that are fairly inexpensive as well.. you can try them out at the shops

Re: Planning a YNP Trip - Seeking Advice

I've made the drive from the Bay Area to Bozeman non-stop.. it was 15+ hours and you have much further to go.. from Bozeman to Cooke City must be 3.0 hours

You might see how long it would be to...

Re: Split shot or wrap around?

I've seen that.. been around for a long time

I use the old bait style split-shots, that have the 'prongs' to open them back up.. easier to remove and have less weight, or put them back on

And...

Re: Eat that fish, or release it?

They're all wild fish here

Some rivers will have targeted fish they'd like the anglers to keep

It could be to suggest you keep rainbows between 12" and 14", if the studies show there are too...
