Re: Do you overline your Method?

Toothy, I think it's pretty funny that you feel the rod designer is disrespected when someone overlines their rod. I seriously doubt Rajeff or Combs or whoever cares which line you like on one of...

Re: A week in Austria

Thanks for sharing! Absolutely beautiful water. I love seeing places around the world where folks have the opportunity to fish. As a small stream fisher, that looks right up my alley!

Re: Newbie question - basic cast

If you're dealing with LMB, weeds, and wind resistant flies, save yourself a lot of heart ache and just get an 8wt. You will not regret it!

Re: Butterstick 7ft 3wt opinions

For small streams i don't think you will find a better choice than the Barrio smallstream.

I use a couple and they haven't let me down.

Re: Copper vs Brown lens, any difference??

I should've added... Don't pay full price for a new pair of sunglasses unless you just can't wait or are head over heels for a certain style.

Look here first: Smith Optics Polarized Fishing...

Re: Copper vs Brown lens, any difference??

I have had two pair of the chromapop. My wife calls them my "happy glasses" because the world just looks so much nicer. Through them. I kid you not. One of the easiest demonstrations of this is just...

Re: Looking for

eBay, look for a Fenwick FF80 or FF807. Eight foot seven weights were thr vintage glass equivalent of today's 9' 5wts. There are a bazillion out there.

Re: Recommend a taper for my new rod

I can HIGHLY recommend a Barrio DT or small stream line. Don't let the fact that he's located in England scare you off. Great lines and great customer service.

Re: Rods under 7ft,functional or fun???

If you wish to research the subject a bit further, Ed Shenk has an entire chapter in his book "Fly Rod Trouting". It is a great read, not so much on a "how to" approach, but just on the pleasure of...

Re: Rods under 7ft,functional or fun???

Do a Google search for the Paul Young Midge. One of the most praised bamboo tapers of the 20th century. Yes, short rods are functional and are a delight to fish. One problem though is people's...

Re: Fenwick FF857

Medalist 1495 would be the obvious choice for the reel... Whatever line suits the fishing you'll be doing.

Re: Cabelas CGR Fiberglass Rods

Re: 406 Lines Vintage Series on Cabela's CGR glass rods??

Re: New 6wt Delima

Just to throw a wrench in the whole thing... If you're in love with the circa, a slower action rod, I think you might consider a modern fiberglass 6wt instead of one of the many fast action carbon...
