    Re: Newfoundland pouch cove fishing?

    I believe you only need a guide or resident if you are fishing scheduled salmon rivers... I think you can fish trout only rivers without a guide or resident but I would double check! I fished briefly...

    Re: Small stream Stories and Pictures;

    I fished another little spring creek just down the road from me a couple times as well. There's a small dam that hold rainbows(juvenile steelhead) below, the mid section of the creek has brook trout...

    Re: Small stream Stories and Pictures;

    Been a busy spring for me but managed to get out a handful of times so far. First up a small spring creek with native brook trout in the 6-12" range. The fish were very active hitting dries and...

    Re: River glass or something cheaper..?

    I like my river glass 6'9' #3 for tight bushy creeks. I have mine paired up with a $20 clicker reel and a discounted DT line, there's really no need to spend on a reel for a 3 weight. Put that money...
  6. Re: Frog Hair Technology tippet and trout hunter.

    Frogs hair has been good to me, have landed several steelhead on 3X without any malfunctions other than sloppy knots tied in the past by myself.
  7. Re: Looking for first shooting head line (with integrated running line)

    I doubt you will find any one that has cast all 3 of those lines, but seems like apples to apples to me. All relatively same length head and mass... probably not too much difference between them. I...

  10. Re: Rare trout caught up north? video confirmation

    It's pretty intriguing but I'm skeptical... There's no historical data of any stocking in the province, or by the Americans in either Huron, Michigan, or Superior. I have also never heard of a single...

    Re: Ontario River Maps

    I have also been looking quite a bit, I don't think there's anything very detailed that exists-which can be a good thing if you like to explore and take chances on new spots, also probably keeps...

    Re: 8wt for short casting distances

    Those Ticr x rods are much like a broom stick, anything will feel better than that rod in close! I like my 8wt cabelas Lsi, though I believe it has been discontinued.

  20. Re: What is your cheapest and your most expensive

    Cheapest- Either one of the $30 blanks I've built on from Anglers roost... after components and cork still less than $100.

  22. Re: Nipper thread .. everyones favorite .. which one? Orvis or Abel

    I'll never understand why someone would pay an excess amount of money for something to cut fishing line. Seems ridiculous to me at least.
  23. Re: Hey Guys SOCAL Guy Going back for round 2 in Ontario.

    I replied to your other thread, but the kawartha's are a prime spot for walleye, pike, and musky. Lake Ontario near Kingston and into the St. Lawrence river I've heard is also good for gar and carp...

    Re: question for pike fly anglers

    Oshawa is very close to the Kawartha lakes, those lakes are all littered with pike and muskies. I don't fish the area often but it is pretty reputable for pike/muskie fishers in southern Ontario....

    Re: question for pike fly anglers

    It all depends where you are fishing. You mention Toronto, are you fishing the harbour area? Or are you heading north? You can bet the fishing in the big metropolis will be more educated than say a...
