Re: What have you been tying today?

I've used that stinger technique for many moons, Norm. The only difference is I use a lighter to burn a ball on the ends of the mono before tying it in to help prevent the stinger from disappointing...

Re: Fishing Vehicle

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a Pacifica (Hybrid?) or another Jeep Grand Cherokee. I don't drive much rough stuff anymore but when I did (mainly hilly, sandy two-track) I learned to drive...

Re: Simplify!

I always have a small box of rusty spinners of every reasonable size in my pocket. My thinking is that there's not much color in the silhouette of a floating fly.
That system works for me now that I...

Re: How far can you cast?

When I saw you were from Cumming GA I was half hoping you would say long casts aren't needed because my understanding is the fly fishing team comps don't much rely on casting well or far. Your area...

Re: Reel Love; the Fly Reel Picture Thread

What type of line guard does that reel have?
Looking closely at those old Hardy's, I find the level of workmanship astounding.
How they made them without CNC and CAD says a lot about what...

Re: Let's see your tying station

Coming through loud and clear now. Maybe I should have left well enough alone. Your area looks good and makes mine look worse than bad!

Re: Fishing Vehicle

They had a film of this in one of the early fly fishing film tours. They mention seeing a huge (28"?) trout in the mouth of a much larger taimen they were fly fishing for. They also had to take a lit...

Re: How far can you cast?

Seriously though, don't they go hand in hand? If you can't cast well you miss plenty of opportunities. Besides, I much prefer catching fish to catching tree's and myself.

In a nutshell... there...

Re: Fishing Vehicle

This might get you to any spot in spring when the snow melt makes for messy driving. On top of that you could probably have 9' rods strung up inside and room to sleep.

Re: Let's see your tying station

Here's a pic I snapped when tying gear had to make room for my grandkids important needs.
In the red circle a busted mini-drone.
In the yellow circles tungsten for weight on the pinewood derby car...

Re: Reel Love; the Fly Reel Picture Thread

Look at the workmanship in that Hardy! No CAM, CAD, CNC and the other stuff we have today yet they still managed to produce a product that in many ways puts most of today's modern goodies to shame....

Re: What have you been tying today?

Thanks Norm. I have to look into them. Do you know anything about the different design of the bead itself in the top picture?

Re: Click and Pawl

For a while when 3M toyed with the...
