James, I really like this fly. I want to try tying a few of these ASAP, but no guarantees that it will look anywhere near as good as yours!

    This thing is smokin!!!

Couple questions as I'm just beginning fly tying and want to use them on bass.

    1) What is silli skin?

    2) How did you attach it to the fly?

    3) When you tucked it under did you secure the silli skin at the eye?

    4) With only half a barbell how did you tie it in?

    5) Any particular color of flash used?

    6) I assume that the chenille and hackle are wrapped like a wooly bugger?

sorry for the questions but this thing is friggin perfect!!
I don't measure it, I don't weigh it, I simply admire it's beauty and then release it back to it's home.

James: That is really nice, I like the way you colored the silli skin, very realistic looking.

    Thanks Ben..
    Here is a SBS.
Mash a large dumbel with a hammer.
    Bend a 1/0 stinger hook
Tie in half a dumbel and super glue it.

the claws are marabou..wet feather and place end on vice
half hitch all the way down..add color with a Sharpie marker.

Tie in olive chenille, olive hackle and rubber leg antennas.

    tie in claws

Trim top of hackle and leave lower for legs

Trim and color Sili Skin..tuck only the tail part under itself and super glue
    the rest.

    Done

also tied an Albino for fun..called "Cherry on top"

thanks for the interest Benjamin and Merry Christmas and a happy 2012
