Default A tribute fly

Last year my grandfather passed which got me to tying this fly based on the Mcmillan tartan (the dress one I think).

Hook - #2 Bartaleet
Tip - Silverflat with gold over
Tail - peacock, ring neck and golden crest
Butt - peacock
Body - green floss
Body - dubbing blue
Rib - yellow and red crossed
Throat - red, yellow cock and blue gunie fowl
wing under - golden pheasent
wing - blue yellow green red built in 1,2,3,4 barb strands (takes ages)
Topping - golden pheasant (should have himilayn pheasant over that but I didnt wait for it to turn up)

Well Chris, somebody's been doing some tying while he was away eh? That's a beautiful rendition of the classic plaid colors and I'm sure your Grandfather is smiling on you for being part of his legacy.

Welcome back,

Ard

Chris welcome back-- what a great looking pattern-- beautiful work.

I hope you and your family are all OK after the latest round of earthquake rumblings in Christchurch...
