This is a crayfish pattern thats been working on bass and bluegill with my 3 wt in a clear lake so I thought I would share how I tie the Pheasant Tail Crayfish
Hook:#10 2XH 3XL streamer hook
Weight:small bead chain or lead eyes tied clouser style, or none at all
Claws: Pheasant tail fibers split with thread like the wings on a dry fly
Antennae: 2 peacock herl fibers
Shellback: turkey tail width of hook gap coated in flexament
Rib:gold wire
Legs on abdomen: soft hackle feather and brown rubber legs
Body: a mixture of natural hare's ear, brown antron, and Whitlock's SLF Fox Squirrel thorax until I get a good combination of bugginess and flash.
And here's proof it works
