This is a big one but they can be as small as 2". A long soft hackled wooly bugger type fly in olive, brown with a touch of orange egg sack is the typical simple pattern but a beautiful design like this Polar in such drab tones would be great I believe.

Thanks for the heads up on using drab colors,it is always appreciated when someone comes back with good information, i will certainly be giving a go at some more subdued colors.
