Default A Small Transparent Fry Pattern

This pattern is one I tie to mimic small fry. Occasionally fish will be feeding exclusively on these small fish. When they do that, you need to get a good fry imitation out there. I tied this to be very realistic and mimic the small fry perfectly. It can be tied in a number of colors, and is relatively simple to tie.

    Hook: Gamakatsu SC15 size 1/0
    Thread: Danville ultra fine monofiliment
Body wrap: Saltwater flashabou, and pink crystal chenille
    Fiber: Ice Dubbing
    Flash: Krystal Flash
    Eyes: 3/32" silver eyes
Epoxy: Solarez "thin hard" and "bone dry" formula

Thanks a lot! So what do you think of the fly? Like anything different you would do? It does well for me, but I'm always looking to improve. Haha

I don't fish salt so it is hard for me to make recommendations. I'd like to try that same pattern on a smaller hook, say a size six and give it a try in the local lakes and streams.

Yeah absolutely! That would be great for some freshwater fishing. You know, if you ever fly fish for Bass, then the larger hook would be fine. But for trout, crappie, perch, exc. you might want to drop down like you said to a size 6 or 4 even. Make sure though that its a heaver hook with a wide gap. Or place some type of weight under the hook. This fly can turn over when stripped quickly if you don't use a larger and heavier hook. The hook I use for this is a medium to thick wire, so the hook itself keeps the fly upright.
