Some weeks ago I was showed a pattern said to be called a "Zima". Simple pattern for tarpon. Small clump of florescent green streamer hair at rear. Brown hackle palmerd over tie down. Then same green hair laid back over top of hook. Friend said it had been working good for tarpon.
Immediately started thinking of it in marabu. And different colors ! It was kinda ugly. Anywho tied some up in purple & black & red & white. Laid marabu on top of hook front & rear palmered 2nd color in between. Gave half dozen to friend some days later.
Next time I see him...rrrrrrgh. Called me at 8 this morning. I was asleep for about 1 1/2 hrs when the phone rang. Was working on the webs between my toes from 2 to 6 (snook time).

"Those three finger Tony's work great" ......

"What ?"

"Those flys you gave me, they work great"

"The flies...... I said three feathers you twit" (I was a bit cranky).

"I'm calling them what I want. They wor-gotta go"

And he hung up. Another friend told me this afternoon. That he had called from his boat. And phone went in water after he called.

Now I don't have to kick him.

Fly has been working great on snook. Laying feathers on top of hook. Flat wing style makes it look alive in water.
