    Default Steelhead Fly; The Rail Bird

    Here's one you seldom see, I am replacing a pair that were lost to the fish last year. I'm guessing you can call this an early west coast Spey pattern. I fish these on a floating line with a pair of BB size split shot on board about two feet from the fly. The style I employ when fishing would be what you find in the books described as "greased line" type presentation

    These fancy flies are fun to tie and even more fun when a fish actually takes off with one of them.
