JB is right, the body of the thread. A thread is in the form of strips and is very similar to the peacock quill.. Synthetics and does not absorb water. I have it in several colors, good for the body caddis and stonefly.

One advice, wherever you look you can find something good for tying some of his flies.

cicvara: That is very interesting thread, I would have swore the body was quill. That thread sure provides an interesting texture! Very nice fly, congrats!

Currently nowhere, but soon I will have that little bit more so I'll answer here in the forum.
I will first do a series of flies that can be used to size the hook. And will do one step by step.

I agree with the others, the way that you tied in that thread makes it look a lot like quill; except that, for me, the varigation in the thread makes it look better than quill.
