Just picked up my new Fenwick HMG, wonder how it will work in the field with the heavy 50 year old Pflueger.

I have one of these old JC Higgins reels. Not a big name reel but a sharp looking reel that gets the job done.

You know that rod outfit you have that just works perfectly for you...that's this rod for me. The rod, reel, and line just syncs so good, it's magical. I'm frequently amazed at how easy it is to softly drop a fly on intended target and then, bam, a fish hits and I'm thinking, "dang, this 1wt has some backbone." It's the rod combo that disappears in my hand and all focus is on the stream and trout.

Nice, how do those two compare/compliment one another? I love 6 weights.

Radian has a faster recovery but it gets tricky to cast when your cast is not as good. Orvis is a nice rod overal they both have strenghts. The Radian is my favorite!

Some Superfine Trout Bum love. These three SF Trout Bum models (1wt, 4wt, 5wt) are one of my favorite quivers. They are somewhat unique from other SF models in that they have sanded olive blanks, gold wraps, and are mid-flex (4 and 5wt rods)...and those burl reel seats with cork inlay are beautiful!!! I take a solitary camping/fishing trip up north every year and this quiver always goes with me...perfect for a little creek and three rivers in the area.
