Got to do some of my favorite fishing on the Hiwassee river this weekend . With water releases being 2am. it made me late waiting in it to run down to wadeable levels but getting in the water around 7:30 was not to bad . Was not much of a hatch i managed 3 rainbow on a fly the others was split between a rubberlegged prince nymph tied with red thread ( til i lost it) and a little beadhead olive caddis larva. I tied a prince back on but with black thread just didn't work as well as the red.Anyone got an idea why the red thread seems to work on tailwater better.
The river.

We kept some to eat this time.

This one was a 14" rainbow.

and right after him in same run this 16" rianbow.
.
It was good relaxing weekend.
