Nice fish. Is that a stocker or wild?

pretty sure it was a stocker..but thats the first big brown i have caught..normally the stocked fish around me are just rainbows and smaller browns.

I got out this weekend in one of the tributaries above the Wilson Creek Delayed Harvest section. Found a ~13" brookie about 2 miles up from the Wilson. Beautiful fish but it had to be a stocker.

NC is a great place to be. I am trying to get into flyfishing but am struggling with finding some place to go without driving for hours. I live a 40 minutes north of charlotte does anyone have any suggestions?

The delayed harvest waters are a phenomenal way to get started fly fishing. Check the NC wildlife site for a complete listing. I know of several within an hour of you. Get out there quick, they effectively close on June 1st.
